Feeding Focus - Calves; coping with the cold

With winter fast approaching, it’s important to remember the impact that low temperatures can have on calves.

During cold temperatures, achieving optimum calf performance becomes increasingly difficult. Cold weather can slow down growth rates, as a calf will work to maintain a constant body temperature, and use reserves of energy to protect themselves from the cold, rather than to grow.
