Youngstock event looks at feeding and genetics

ForFarmers, together with NMR and AHDB Dairy are hosting a technical event entitled ‘Precision Dairying’ aimed at dairy and youngstock farmers in North Wales.

The meeting, taking place on Tuesday 7th February 2017, at Ty Menai, Parc Menai, Bangor brings together expertise from across the industry to look at delivering technical efficiency through ‘50% feeding and 50% breeding’.

Rachael Kennerley, Youngstock Manager ForFarmers UK, will start the day by looking at rearing youngstock for optimum lifetime performance. This is followed by a presentation by Bart Tas, Ruminant Innovation Manager ForFarmers NL, who will focus on transition cow management.

Laurence Loxam, Genetics Business Manager NMR, will then provide some insights into next generation breeding, followed by a talk from Marco Winters, Head of Genetics AHDB Dairy, who will look at the developments on the horizon for PLI genetic reports.
