This year’s British Free Range Egg Producers Association (BFREPA) conference and exhibition will take place on the 15th of October in the Birmingham Metropole Hotel, and tickets are on sale now.

Now in its 28th year, the theme of this year’s conference- ‘Fit for the Future – British Free Range Eggs, where next?’ will tackle a range of issues facing free range egg producers as the sector braces itself for potential disruption in the coming future.

Andrew Burley, Poultry Sales Director at ForFarmers: ‘On behalf of ForFarmers we are proud to host and organise this event with the BFREPA team. This year’s larger venue is a testament to the growth and importance of the industry, and the theme of fit for the future will advise producers on how to grow and innovate further while protecting and sustaining the industry. On behalf of ForFarmers, I hope you enjoy your day and take something away to ensure your business remains, fit for the future.’

The event will see a range of talks from retailers and sector analysts with sessions from John Kirkpatrick, Tesco’s Agricultural Manager (Poultry Eggs and Feed) and a speaker from Kantar World panel. Rob Hoffman, Buying Manager for eggs at Morrison’s will take part in a ‘Question Time’ panel session in the afternoon, joined by Karen Cambell from Glenrath Farms, and poultry vet Ian Jones.

With innovation and technology in mind, James Wright, insect protein specialist, is set to talk about the opportunities that insect protein sources could offer free range egg producers. David Speller from Applied Group will discuss the latest innovations and technology available to the laying sector.

BFREPA Chairman James Baxter says, “We have a very exciting line-up of speakers for this year’s conference. Producers can’t afford to miss the important advice and insight that they’ll gain from the one-day event, as we approach a potentially challenging period for our sector.”
