Geoff Eyre Wins Marsdens Special Award for Moorland Restoration
Geoff Eyre, of WM Eyre & Sons, has won the Marsdens Special Award for his outstanding contributions to gamekeeping and shooting. Nicknamed a "gardener on a landscape scale," Geoff has spent over 30 years pioneering moorland restoration techniques in the Peak District. His expertise and passion have made him a valuable resource for other organisations.
As one of his nominators shared: “Geoff’s legacy on moorland will stand the test of time – especially in the Peak District. Although I have nominated Geoff for the Marsdens Special Award, his work fits into many other categories, which is why, in my opinion; he is a true candidate for the top award.”
A Celebration of Conservation Efforts
The awards ceremony showcased the remarkable efforts of gamekeepers, estates, and shoots in promoting biodiversity and responsible land management. Marsdens applauds all the nominees and encourages continued participation in future awards.
